Titop Island – A Scenic Icon of Halong Bay

Titop Island is one of the most visited islands in Halong Bay. It is located about 8 kilometers from Bai Chay Harbor, right in the heart of the bay. The island was named after the Russian astronaut Gherman Titov, who visited Halong Bay with President Ho Chi Minh in 1962. Since then, Titop has become a famous stop for both Vietnamese and international travelers.

The island is small but offers two main attractions: a sandy beach and a panoramic viewpoint. The beach, shaped like a crescent moon, has soft white sand and clear water. It is ideal for swimming and relaxing after sightseeing. The sea around the island is calm and safe for all ages.

For those who enjoy hiking, a staircase of about 400 stone steps leads to the top of the island. The walk takes around 15–20 minutes. From the summit, visitors can see a 360-degree view of Halong Bay, with emerald waters and limestone karsts stretching to the horizon. This viewpoint is one of the best places in the bay to take photos, especially at sunrise or sunset.

When traveling with Aime’e Cruises, guests visit Titop Island as part of the itinerary in the afternoon. This timing allows time for swimming on the beach or hiking to the viewpoint before returning to the ship. Towels and water are prepared on board, so guests can fully enjoy the experience.
